scientific administrative assistant - pesticides peer review unit

The candidate is expected to:

• Write, edit and proofread documents such as reports, presentations, meeting minutes, templates etc., ensuring the highest level of accuracy;
• Prepare documents from the risk assessment processes for publication;
• Handle correspondence by managing functional mailboxes;
• Ensure proper document management;
• Collect and compile data;
• Support the maintenance and management of databases;
• Arrange meetings and workshops.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in chemistry, biology, toxicology or a related field with relevance to the risk assessment of active substances used in pesticide;
• Excellent knowledge of English (at least C1 level);
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience;
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook (required), as well as document management systems (preferable);
• Ability to work autonomously, to proactively address challenges and to switch quickly from one task to the other;
• Work experience from an international organisation and knowledge of EU regulations and/or procedures applicable to the area of food safety are considered assets;

Assignment: initial contract of 3 months, with possibility of extension. Expected duration of assignment 12 months.

Salary: approx. €2259 per month before taxes.  

Work modalities: office work is required on at least 2 days per week. Remote work is possible within 2 hours from EFSA's premises in Parma, Italy, for the remaining days.
