Simulation Engineer Multi-body - Structural Dynamics

I. Summary Description

The Simulation Engineer (SE) will join the Powertrain Design and Know-How group within the Powertrain Department.

The SE will be typically responsible for Structural Dynamics Powertrain simulations pertaining to several aspects of Powertrain NVH, Reliability & Design from the concept phase down to Start of Production. The SE will interact with several functions within the Powertrain Department (e.g. Concept Design, Innovation, Design, Testing, Homologation) and with other Units (e.g. Vehicle Department).

 

II. Primary Responsibilities

- Contributing during the Powertrain concept phase to defining the key features and technologies needed in order to reach the targets

- Make virtual model and perform simulation within Multi-body Dynamics , FEM and Fatigue environment.

- Cooperate with Design department in order to optimize design solution and to fix issues

- Taking part in the definition of test activities related to Powertrain and Driveline for GT vehicles

- Supporting the testing and development activities by cross-analysing experimental and numerical results

- Cooperating with the other Functions within and outside his/her Department throughout the lifetime of an powertrain project

- Developing novel methodologies for the continuous improvement of the simulation tools and models

- Interacting with suppliers and consultants and managing projects under his/her responsibility

- Taking part in Powertrain Innovation and Research programmes

 

III. Competences and Skills

- General knowledgeability on operating principles and physics governing modern Powertrain

- Deep knowledge on Structural-Dynamics topics

- Sensitivity to the latest trends in powertrain design for performance and NVH

- Flexibility in working in a highly-dynamic and fast-changing environment

- Capability of interacting constructively within a Team and among Teams

 

IV. Requirements

- +2 years of work experience in top research companies, universities or OEM

- Master Degree in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent

- Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken

- Knowledge Multi-body Dynamics , FEM and Fatigue simulation environment
