The Sales Area Manager will report to the Sales Director and will be responsible for managing, developing and consolidating the company's presence in the area of expertise, with a particular focus on Italy, Spain, Portugal and south east Europe; the resource will also be responsible for Expanding the cooperation with clients and focusing on the continuous growth of the Company, supporting the management and development of the customer portfolio.



The main responsibility of this role is to deliver business pipelines in the area of Italy in order to maximise revenue growth in new and existing key accounts, alongside increasing profitability against defined targets to achieve cash and profit improvement for the business.



  • Focus and grow sales activity in order to maximise sales opportunities across customers in portfolio, with a particular effort in the Private Label business
  • Collecting market information, following trends and actively collecting customer information about local developments and needs in the market and with consumers
  • Collaborating with Customer Service teams in different locations
  • Making an active contribution to identifying market potential
  • Challenge the sales process, management, the organization and yourself on improvements
  • Being a leader in keeping your professional knowledge up-to-date
  • Maintaining and expand the customer portfolio, achieving sales growth with existing customers and new customers
  • Business development, hunting and achieve new key customers in selected sales segment to increase sales and margin revenue
  • Develop clear and targeted business plans in order to increase sales and market share
  • Assist in developing market strategies for segments
  • Monitor customers’ financial performance as relates to individual customer sales strategies
  • Develop, manage and maintain exceptional relationships with both internal and external customers.



  • Bachelor (Bsc) in the direction of International Trade or Economics or equivalent;
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the private label business within a sales function and managing key accounts (3-5 years) preferable in a multinational business environment;
  • Excellent knowledge of sales processes in the GDO market;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Italian language (Native) and English. Command of the German, French and/or Spanish language is an advantage;
  • High availability and willingness to continue traveling on an international and national scale (about 50%)
  • Proficient use of CRM (Salesforce, Navision or QuickView), Office (Powerpoint, Excel) and Social Network and Video Platforms (like teams, google meet, Skype Business, Zoom).


  • Highly proactive, flexible, initiative, self-motivated, driven and results-oriented;
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and deep-rooted curiosity about people, international companies and markets
  • Ability to develop relationships, negotiate and close business in a cross functional manner is mandatory
  • Good communication, enjoy completing tasks, determination and know how to convince others, decision-making skills;
  • First class presentation skills, both verbal and written;
  • Fluent English is mandatory, Spanish, German or French will be appreciated.
